Quickstart — 5 minutes from sign-up to tracking
This is the fastest possible path. Assumes you have a Google account (for GA4 sign-in) and admin access to your website.
1. Create your TagEasy account
Sign up at /register with email + password, or click Sign in with Google to skip credentials.
First sign-in auto-creates a personal organization on the Free plan (1 website, 10K events / month — enough to prove tracking works before you upgrade).
2. Add your website
- From the dashboard, click + Add Website
- Enter your domain (e.g.,
mystore.com) - Pick your platform — we auto-detect Shopify, WordPress, Webflow when we can
- Click Continue
TagEasy creates a configuration record and opens the setup wizard at Step 1 of 9. You can leave at any point and resume later — progress is saved automatically.
3. Connect Google Analytics 4 (optional but recommended)
Step 2 of the wizard asks you to OAuth into your Google account so we can read your GA4 properties. Click Connect GA4, pick the property you want to track, and you're done. We never write to GA4 — only read for reporting.
If you don't have a GA4 property yet, click Skipand create one later. We'll use a placeholder Measurement ID you can replace.
4. Set up Google Tag Manager (optional)
Step 3 connects to your GTM account so we can push tags directly into a dedicated "TagEasy" workspace inside your container. If you prefer to import a container JSON manually, you can skip this step.
5. Tell us what you want to track
Step 4 — the "What do you want to learn?" step — gives you plain-English goal checkboxes:
- Follow my online store funnel (cart → checkout → purchase)
- Retarget visitors with Facebook ads
- Run Google Ads conversion tracking
- Track form submissions / leads
- Know what content people actually read
Each goal you pick configures the right GA4 events, GTM triggers, and conversion pixels automatically. There's also anAdvanced toggle in the top-right if you want to see the raw event names (view_item, add_to_cart, etc.).
6. Generate the install code
Steps 5-8 fine-tune your event templates, custom events, and e-commerce configuration. Most users accept the defaults and click through. Step 9 is the install screen — copy/paste the GTM snippet into your site's<head> and you're live.
Per-platform install instructions: Shopify · WordPress · WooCommerce · BigCommerce · Webflow · Custom / headless.
7. Verify it's firing
Visit your Health page — for each event we show an OK / WARN / BROKEN badge based on the verification script you embedded. Status updates daily. Read more at Health monitoring.
